Blankets for a Cause

Helping in the fight against pediatric brain cancer

Carli brightened the lives of everyone she met.
She had a huge heart with an empathetic soul beyond her years.

To continue her legacy, the 2024 Prayers From Maria grant is named in memory of Carli. With this grant, Carli's legacy of compassion will live on in the seeds that are planted for others.

Every dollar donated to the Prayers From Maria annual campaign fuels essential research. We are incredibly grateful for your support!

Make sure to mention "Carli" in the additional information section on the form.

Carli's Story

On December 24, 2021 Carli was diagnosed with DIPG - a rare and incurable cancer in the brain stem. After undergoing 6 weeks of radiation, Carli agreed to join a clinical trial in Chicago for a new immunotherapy vaccine, followed by a second clinical trial in Michigan for a promising new therapeutic. Carli participated in these trials with the hope of helping other children afflicted with this disease, even if the treatments were unable to help her.

Carli always looked for opportunities to help others and contribute to the effort to find a cure. She decided to start making and selling blankets so that she could donate the proceeds to Prayers From Maria. Born from her care for others, Carli's Petals of Promise continues to make blankets today to honor Carli and her legacy of compassion.

All proceeds from the sale of each blanket goes to Prayers From Maria, and will help fund important research to advance treatments for kids like Carli, and hopefully one day provide a cure.

“I am making one blanket at a time in hopes to spread comfort and joy to others, and as my way of helping in the fight against pediatric brain cancer.”
